It was nice to bump into a few students on Sunday. I learned some new info on acrylic pigments, pastes and gels: I researched Liquitex verses Goldens brand. I was curious about the origins of each co. And if there was blogging out there on preference. I came across this article and think it is worth sharing. This regards the type of viscosity called Open Paint Goldens. The idea is to extend the drying time making a product that “”feels” more like an oil and allows a bit more mixing time. Let’s discuss in the next class.

Also, it appears that each brand has its fans. Most acrylics came on the market in the 1950’s as a commercial professional painting medium. Goldens and Liquitex are interchangeable when mixing in our class.
